Locations

In New York you can get married almost anywhere, below are a few popular spots in Central Park and beyond. There are so many beautiful places for your ceremony in Central Park alone, however wedding ceremonies can be performed just about anywhere in the city!

Ladies Pavilion

This popular spot is my favourite place in Central Park. The ornate Victorian pavilion was made in 1871 and used as a shelter for trolley passengers near Central Park. It was moved inside the park in 1912 and has stood proudly by The Lake ever since.

Bow Bridge

Bow bridge has been in countless movies and TV shows, and I can see why! The stunning views over the lake with the skyline peeping on the horizon make this a beautiful setting for your ceremony.

Wagner Cove

If you'd prefer a more private ceremony Wagner Cove is a wonderful choice if you're looking for a more rustic spot. This hidden gem is situated right on the lake and is close to many picture perfect areas in Central Park.

Bethesda Fountain and terrace

This romantic and lavish spot is so popular, mainly due to its grandeur and links to various blockbusters. My favourite areas for your ceremony are either by the fountain itself or under the shelter of the Lower Passage (and yes, that is where Macaulay Culkin ran in Home Alone!) This area can get very busy at the weekends, especially during the summer months so I'd advise a weekday ceremony here.

Recommended capacity: 2-30

COP COT

Cop Cot is a lovely wooden structure which is entwined with the various trees and plants that surround it. This can provide some much needed shelter from the summer sun when the trees are full of leaves. However, I love Cop Cot for winter weddings, as the trees lose their foliage and the structure can be seen in its full glory.

Gapstow Bridge

Gapstow Bridge is in the South end of Central Park near where you’d enter from 5th Avenue. It has beautiful views of the city and iconic Plaza Hotel. The bridge takes you over the Pond and has a couple of quiet spots nearby for a wedding ceremony. The recommended capacity differs as on the bridge itself can get quite busy but the spaces nearby would be better for anyone bringing guests with them!

BROOKLYN BRIDGE

Brooklyn Bridge is a beautiful New York land mark. The bridge connects Lower Manhattan with Brooklyn and has fantastic views of the East River and the Manhattan skyline. Below the bridge is Brooklyn Bridge Park which is also a fabulous place to get married by the river. Photos in the nearby DUMBO area of Brooklyn are also a must!

Recommended capacity: Less than 10 (Brooklyn Bridge) or up to 30 (Brooklyn Bridge Park)

Top Of The Rock

Does it get more iconic than this? You can have your ceremony or photos at the top of The Rockefeller building. On a clear day you have views of Central Park on the one side and The Empire State Building on the other.

Recommended capacity: 2-10

Grand Central Station

If you want a grand backdrop then this is the perfect place! Grand Central Terminal is also a great backup for if the weather isn’t on your side. With lots of history and gorgeous photo opportunities, Grand Central could be the perfect spot for you to day “I do”
